The uninvolved parenting style is certainly not a parenting style that parents should choose. It involves giving little or no attention to their children who will not be given much love and in fact the parents will be rather uncaring as well as will not adequately meet their children’s needs or wants. There is also little emotional interaction between parents and children and the child is not properly supervised either. Another ill consequence of the uninvolved parenting style is that there are often lots of vicious interactions between children and their parents.
Another downside to using uninvolved parenting style is that parents will not use effective means of controlling their child’s way of behaving. Typically, this means screaming at the children to do something or else. Also, when parents use uninvolved parenting style the child will generally ignore or whine or even argue a lot with the parents while parents might, after issuing threats and after yelling, withdraw from difficult situations which has the undesired of reinforcing the very actions that they wish to stop the child from performing.
When the uninvolved parenting style is used it also can make the child attempt to assume control (however little) over their parents and this pattern might then, over time, become more pronounced with the ante being upped and so the threats, yelling and abuse starts up all over again. In the end, after a lot of yelling and abuse and threats, the child will then finally comply with the wishes and so put a temporary end to the problem. On the other hand, the child might stubbornly refuse to be cooperative and will continue whining and pleading and ignoring the problem.
Parents that resort to using uninvolved parenting style will generally not respond well to their children’s needs and will also not demand proper behavior on the part of their children and in very extreme instances, uninvolved parenting style can lead to encompassing rejection as a way of coexisting with each other. Unfortunately, in today’s age and time numerous parents that are too busy to take care of their children on account of different reasons tend to use the uninvolved parenting style.
Parenting however, is an action that comes quite naturally to almost every adult. Still, in this day and age, raising children can prove to be quite a daunting task that requires that parents address their children’s needs in the most effective manner possible. Otherwise, their children will become wayward leading to further distress and emotional upheavals.

Democratic Parenting Style Is Well Suited To Modern Lifestyles
The democratic parenting style suits parents that wish to establish certain sound guidelines with which to parent their children and which also involves stressing the need to clarify issues that their children are confronted with, and furthermore, to also give the child valid reasons why certain limits are being imposed on their (the child’s) freedom. Another important aspect to democratic parenting style is that it is a parenting style that lays emphasis on taking responsibility and in addition the child is given plenty of freedom in making choices though at the same they also need to be guided regarding the consequences of each choice that they can make.
In democratic parenting style, when the child misbehaves, the parent handles the situation through attempting to resolve the problem and to also show the child the consequences of their actions in a manner that is more acceptable to the child. This means that rather than punish a child that has done something wrong, the democratic parenting style involves giving the child time to cool down and it also means not meting out punishment to them as a sort of knee-jerk reaction.
The best part about the democratic parenting style is that children are allowed a chance to understand that they have made a mistake and that they need to make amends, especially when their actions or behaviors have caused others to feel or be hurt. In the present scenario where the Internet and information age has a big influence on everybody including children, the democratic parenting style is perhaps the best suited parenting style that will help in coping with the kinds of problems that develop from living modern lifestyles.
Today, parents realize that there is no one single correct method of dealing with their children who have far more options to choose from and this is why the democratic parenting style is used to give the child enough chance to learn to act responsibly and to make choices in a wiser manner as well as learn how to handle change in a positive manner. This parenting style also helps to equip the child to become successful in their careers in which the need to solve problems through cooperation which is very important and which in fact will prove to be very helpful in making them get along with co-workers and so achieve success in life.
Another parenting style, the uninvolved parenting style is, as the name implies, a style of parenting in which the parents are often rejecting as well as neglecting their children. Parents that resort to using this parenting style will often be uncaring as well as will not adequately address their children’s needs and wants.

Permissive Parenting Style Is Often A Dangerous Form Of Parenting
Permissive parents think nothing of allowing their children to walk up to them to state precisely what they (the children) want or need. This form of parenting style is unsurprisingly known as the permissive parenting style and parents only realize that it might not be the best parenting style when they open their bank statements and see that there is not much of a balance remaining. The main drawback to the permissive parenting style is that parents often fail to realize – let along enforce – boundaries within which they (the parents) and the child must coexist.
On the plea of providing their children with an opportunity to experiment with their lives and discover things for themselves, parents that make use of the permissive parenting style will often give their children a lot of rope to do as they please. In fact, the foundation on which the permissive parenting style is formed actually lays more stress that children should be given what they want and that there is no real need to set boundaries that normally would have helped in promoting healthier relationships.
Most parents that employ the permissive parenting style will generally find it very hard to say no to their children and will hardly try and limit what their children are permitted to do and also what they are not permitted to do. Most experts feel that the permissive parenting style is one that can be called a compensatory type of parenting in which the parent tries to compensate with their children regarding the latter’s needs and wants.
Obviously, the reason why parents would choose the permissive parenting style is that they themselves grew in families and in environments in which they did not receive any real discipline and were allowed a lot of latitude in what was permitted and what was not.
The result of a parent’s own upbringing is reflected in the way that they end up parenting their children and in most cases if the parent was allowed plenty of leeway in their homes then they will also allow their children the same rights and privileges.
Another form of parenting, the democratic parenting style is really nothing but a combination of two other parenting styles: authoritarian and also permissive parenting styles. This form of parenting style tries to draw the best of authoritarian and permissive parenting styles in the hope that parents that use this parenting style will be able to succeed in providing their children with a better life.

Different Parenting Styles
When it concerns evaluating different parenting styles it pays to expect at the very outset that each parenting style has its own characteristics – some good and some bad. However, there are four main different parenting styles that need to be considered and these include authoritarian and authoritative as well as permissive and finally, uninvolved.
The last type of parenting style or uninvolved is one in which the parents take no notice of what their children do and therefore the term uninvolved is most apt to describe this particular different parenting style and it is also a parenting style that does not deserve more than a casual mention.
However, of the other different parenting styles, the authoritarian as well as authoritative and permissive parenting styles have distinct features that separate one from the other. On the one side there is the authoritarian parenting style while at its opposite end there is the permissive style of parenting and in between these two different parenting styles there is the authoritative parenting style.
There is also another aspect to judging different parenting styles and this is that there are two distinct aspects that help distinguish one parenting style from the other: structure as well as responsiveness. The structure of different parenting styles involves the rules as well as limits that are formed to govern the child’s behavior and it is in fact the major factor used in the authoritarian parenting style.
Responsiveness on the other hand is something that distinguishes different parenting styles in that the parent has different amount of sensitivity to their children’s pleas and voice. This characteristic involves addressing a child’s needs and wants and in fact responsiveness is a major factor in the permissive style of parenting.
This shows that different parenting styles have their own salient points with authoritarian parenting styles being strong on structure while responsiveness of parents is the main factor governing the permissive style of parenting. However, among different parenting styles the authoritative parenting style is supreme, being more balanced as well as being more effective in bringing up a child in the proper manner. Parents that use the authoritative parenting style can be more engaging, flexible and will also strive to lead by example.
Regardless of which particular different parenting style is used it is necessary to emphasize that parents should always remember that they are after all human and so they should enforce the rules in a more reasonable manner without being too inflexible or rigid in the process.
